Crispy Panko-Style Onion Rings

    • 2 ½ cups Kibon panko bread crumbs

    • 2 large Vidalia onions

    • 3 large eggs, beaten

    • 2 cups canola oil

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour

    • 1 tsp garlic powder

    • 1 tsp dried oregano

    • 1 tsp salt

    • ½ tsp ground black pepper

    • ¼ tsp ground red pepper

Slice the onions into ¼ inch thick slices, then separate the rings.

In a bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, black pepper and red pepper.

Mix the eggs in a second bowl, and place the panko bread crumbs in a third bowl.

Heat the oil on medium-low heat to 350 ˚F (177 ˚C).

Dip the onion rings in the flour bowl, then the egg bowl, and repeat once more

5.

Dredge your onion rings in the panko and cook in oil until they reach a golden brown colour.
